1981 Porsche 924 Carrera GTS Club Sport

The 924 began as a joint project with Volkswagen and Audi to bring an entry-level car into the Porsche lineup. With racing always on the menu, Porsche lost no time in developing for privateer teams with the 924 Carrera GT, Carrera GTS, and the ultimate version, the Carrera GTS Club Sport. Bored over to 2.0 liters and fitted with a larger air-to-air intercooler, the Club Sport made 270 horsepower while weighing just 2,337 pounds. Only 50 were built, and the example here, chassis no. 710021, found itself competing in Italian Group B rallying from 1982 to 1983. The car remained in Italy after retiring from racing before being imported to Norway in 2000 by its current owner. The car wears its last known livery from the 1983 Rally Nazionale 12 Coppa Citta di Modena and has been mechanically refreshed to be road or race-ready.
